QUOTING

Hello there,

Welcome back to my blog.

For today, I will be sharing some quotes that I love. Hopefully one gets to you .

Some will be drawn from books…

You look beautiful,” Alodia says.
I startle at the compliment. Then I smile. “I’m beautiful to the one person who matters.”
She nods. “Hector’s mouth is going to drop open when he sees you.”
“I hope so. But I meant me. I’m beautiful to me.”
― Rae CarsonThe Bitter Kingdom

This is one of those excerpts that bring out the self love type of vibes. And I am all about that !!

Your heart will fix itself. It’s your mind you need to worry about. Your mind where you locked the memories, your mind where you have kept pieces of the ones that hurt you, that still cut through you like shards of glass.

Your mind will keep you up at night, make you cry, destroy you over and over again. You need to convince your mind that it has to let go…because your heart already knows how to heal.”

― Nikita Gill

If you are one who overthonks. You can only relate so much to this!

i want to apologize to all the women i have called beautiful
before i’ve called them intelligent or brave
i am sorry i made it sound as though
something as simple as what you’re born with
is all you have to be proud of

when you have broken mountains with your wit
from now on i will say things like
you are resilient, or you are extraordinary
not because i don’t think you’re beautiful
but because i need you to know
you are more than that”

― Rupi Kaur

Well, Rupi is one of my faves when it comes to poetry! You defintely need to read her books. If you need any of her books, let me know. I have them in soft copy. I have Nikita Grill’s also in soft copy.

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.

-Washington Irving

This one speaks for itself. I have actually used it in a previous post.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

Maya Angelou

This one has featured on one of my ig posts. And well..not a bad mission to have in

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard –
And sore must be the storm –
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm –
I’ve heard it in the chillest land –
And on the strangest Sea –
Yet – never – in Extremity,
It asked a crumb – of me.
– BY EMILY DICKINSON
This is a full poem yes, but once you get to just understand how deep it is, you will never be the same again.
Also you may need to read it several times mahn!

If I posted all that I love, I am afraid you may have had to scroll a bit too much, so I shall stop here.

However drop in the comments one of your favourites!!
Also are you feeling the World Cup vibes?
Surprisingly I am starting to.
Should I do a little post in the lines of World Cup? Tell me this in the comments too.
Have a lovely weeknd.
Till next time.
Tschüss ( perhaps where my loyalty lies )

  1. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

  2. “For in that solemn silence is heard
in the whisper of every sleeping thing: Look, look at me,
    Come wake me up
for still here I’ll be .” William Sharp’s poem “A Crystal Forest” added lines from Disney.
