ON THE MORNING OF MY BIG DAY …

I learned that things don’t always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I’ve learned that there are things that go wrong that don’t always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. I’ve learned that some broken things stay broken, and I’ve learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you.

Amidst life’s many disappointments there are always those days where we know and hope that things will turn out well. However ,when even such days prove to cause us the greatest pain by being one of the worst days we could ever have lived, we wonder how then we should react.

This story will express such a situation and it is by all means a true story. For the purposes of this post we’ll not refer to the parties with their real names.

Not more than five years ago everything was working out just fine for Jill. She had already completed her studies and had managed to even secure herself a well paying job. She really loved her work and was grateful for the far she had come.

As is the case with many offices, there was a tradition of hosting the end year party without fail for every year. She had worked for 3 years and not even one had she attended those end year parties.

This year however, she decided that she should change things up. She had been told so many stories about how the event usually went on. How because of the jolly mood, employees would manage to take their bosses into giving them a raise or a promotion. Perhaps she had been missing out not only on the fun but opportunities as well.

Making up her mind to go was just the first part. She figured out that going to the party meant that she had to get a dress to wear. It was challenging at first was she went to different stores looking for a dress. She had no idea in mind of what she was looking for thus it was quite the hustle. But knowing that the internet is everyone’s friend she went online and finally settled on the type of dress she would go with.

By the day of the party she was all set and ready to go.

The day was finally here. The room where the party was held looked so beautiful. Work had definitely been out into the decor. On entering she first stole a glance at Jack. He was the guy from the HR office….

You don’t want to miss next week’s episode of this story.

Have a great weekend and let’s meet again next week.

Love and love ❤️.
