Fresh air, open field with the sun just about to set, she sat on the ground flipping through the last few pages of the book she was reading.

Introduced to her was a man of many woes and sorrows who had despite all the ugliness that had cast a shadow round about him still managed to shine a light.

His name was URI.

She would go later go on ahead and describe what she thought of him when their paths met as follows :

“Once upon  a journey of words I met one man called Uri.

I knew I was going to find a man along the way but I did not know what to expect. From my many literary escapades I had always painted the male characters in just one standard way. The typical image one gets when they key in a search online.

It was different with Uri.

I just thought that I should let him paint out his face for me. Clean slate, no preconceived ideas, just solely relying on his words and actions to make an impression; in my mind.

Loving and Caring – an adjective that is mostly reconciled to women. That’s what he was. His wife had taken ill. She could barely do anything by herself. Many wondered why he still stayed by her side; her days were numbered. But Uri was a man who devoted his life to this one woman , a dedication that could only be severed by death; and it did come.

But up until the last day, her final breath, he cared for her, gave meaning to the vows he had made……”

Up until this point, dear reader, she could not continue describing this man.

The depth of the goodness of this man’s heart could not be translated into words. There’s only so much accuracy that adjectives would portray but I’m sure even if for a second , you too could at least try and fathom just how good he was.

And alas!

Here now the sunset before her eyes. Such a beautiful sight it was.

Tears flowing as she witnessed this particular sunset. I tell you it was as beautiful as the story she had read, as beautiful as his face could be. If this sunset had a face, it would have been his.

It’s been a hot minute since I was here. I just felt my creative juices flow again and thought it great to share with you. There’ll be more definitely, but I cannot promise it will be sooner rather than later!

So glad you took your time to read 💛!

I should have started with Season Greetings but oh well, we’ll do that next time.

Make sure to come back for more and if you haven’t already check out my other posts.
