TAKING STOCK : APRIL 2020

There are so many reasons I like writing this taking stock posts. One is because it doesn’t require (of me ) a creative thought process but just sharing your truth as it is in the moment. I usually edit out some parts of the template because sometimes I am usually just not ready to be honest regarding some but today I think I’ll try and do the entire original template.

Oh yeah it’s May now.

I hope you enjoy this read 😊.

Making:

Difficult decisions like limiting the number of hours that I seem to have now dedicated to watching tiktok videos

Cooking:

Had at some point become the new full time job but I am kinda over that period of having the zeal to prepare each and every meal from scratch each time. We are doing mass meal preps and plans now lol. (I really wish it was as healthy as it sounds. Naah, I really don’t.)

Sipping:

On a cold milkshake as I write this and as it pours outside.Β

Reading:

All the poetry books I can get my hands on now. Remember in my previous post I said I was reading a poetry book ? Okay, I have since then began another one. It’s titled “I hope this reaches her in time.”Β I am just in this phase of reading poetry books.

Looking:

Up destinations that have to be visited once everthing goes back to normal because why not?

Listening:

To the kind of music that no one appreciates as usual. Β But it’s really okay, I mean I really don’t have to prove my taste to anyone right.(…. I say as I hold back that one tear)

Wishing:

I had an endless supply of the things that I want really. Just that.

Enjoying:

The live IG concerts for sure!! The performances and comments.

Eating:

Probably at the oddest times courtsey of my terrible sleeping schedule.

Liking:

What my eyes see on some good days on the web but that is where it ends.

Loving:

The current state of my skin. It really is making me happy.

Buying:

Things that I am sure I won’t regret buying if that makes sense.

Watching:

Re -runs of some shows I liked because I am unable to just find anything that interests me like that. The fact that I am actually re-watching stuff just shows that it’s serious because I never thought I would be that kind of person. But if you insist that you can plug me on some shows that I will definitely enjoy watching ; indulge me.

Hoping:

I am still able to achieve some of the things I put on my vision board mahn. I literally see it everyday when I wake up and I just………..

Wearing:

The most basic outfit you can think of plus a wig and beret because – balance.

Following:

A few interesting conversations that are going on online. Recently I watched this video where the issue of young people putting too much pressure on themselves was being discussed. An example that was given was the case of many people wanting to already start businesses by say 20 or thereabout. Such that, it just appears that the focus is so much on the future that people are forgetting to live in the present.Of course there were/are opinions on whether that’s true or not, but it was something good to listen to. You know – some perspective.

Noticing:

That apparently to people it’s a strange thing to not watch Youtube videos in full view. I am always watching on default view like 98% of the times. Am I weird for that ?

Sorting:

Out my phone gallery into albums that make sense and deleting some of these group media that I didn’t sign up for.Β

Getting:

Into a proper routine really sounds like a great idea at this point.Β

Saving:

And investing is what I would love to be in a position to consistently do. That’s it.

Bookmarking:

Outfit designs because I’ve been having some fabrics that haven’t been tailored just lying around for the longest time now. After all this I really have no excuse.

Coveting:

Luxury items that I can’t afford at the moment. So if you’re trynna get me some of them, where do I send you the list ?

Feeling:

A lot of things. The feelings are so unpredictable to be honest and sometimes there are triggers and not so good responses to such. Sometimes I just shut down, feel nothing, feel more than I should. (On my next post I will share more on this.) I just almost got int my feels writing this.

I noticed that some of my fav points to reflect on had not been included in this particular template like “cringing”, “thinking”, “learning” but it’s alright. Next time.

Another post coming up soon, be on the look out for it.

  1. I really like this. It’s an interesting way to take stock.

Also if you have your read works by Rupi Kaur ? If you’re into poetry, it is well worth reading.

  4. I feel guilty buying (non-essential) stuff because you know, we’re in a middle of a pandemic πŸ˜‚.. I feel like my priorities are probably wrong πŸ˜‚
On the feelings, I may need a therapist.. The extremes I get to are crazyπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. And random too..

  5. Chichi, this is a lovely post. I thought I was weird for having my feelings shoot up and down all the time. Sometimes getting into extremes. However, in my view taking stock is important but it is wise for us not to put pressure on ourselves.
